MEET SPOTLIGHTS TEACHERS:
Donnelle Yoshino
Donnelle began Japanese American folk dancing as soon as she could walk. This love of dance and music eventually led her to a social dance class at UC Davis. Since 1993 she has studied various dance styles including Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Hip Hop and Hawaiian. After receiving her master's degree in history, she returned to Davis and continued her dance studies with her teacher, Gwen Burton. In addition to performing and competing with the Spirit in Motion dance team, she has performed several solo exhibitions and participated in competitions. She enjoyed the UC Davis dance classes so much that she now teaches a section of that same class. Her love of music has earned her the title of Music Coordinator at Spotlight.
